This morning, several Monegasque entities gathered to carry out an anti-pollution exercise with Bouygues and its partners on the urban extension construction site.
The scenario was a spill of 300 liters of hydraulic oil from the barge EDMOND following the tearing of the hoses by the passage of TERTNES, a bulk carrier vessel. The goal was to test the responsiveness and the coordination of the different teams and have an accurate estimate of the time required to put floating dams in place, and also to test the manoeuvrability of the equipment used.

Various equipments have been deployed to contain the pollution, prevent the oil from drifting to the marine protected areas or the port of MONACO and trapping it on the surface with the absorbing horse shoe system.
